Tunnels

Tunnels require balanced control of lighting such that internal lighting relates to external daylight levels to ensure a gradual transition from the brightness of daylight into the darker interior and back again to daylight - too harsh a transition leaves us “in the dark” upon entering the tunnel or dazzled by the daylight for a few hazardous seconds when emerging from the tunnel.

A tunnel lighting management systems enables every light fitting to be individually addressed, monitored and dimmed such that lighting levels are graduated at the entrance and exits from a tunnel and optimised to match the outside lighting levels.
